How to: Studded & Destroyed Denim Shorts
![]() |
Step 1: Find a pair of high-waisted jeans. We bought ours at a vintage boutique in Amsterdam, called Zipper.

This is what the jeans looked like when we bought them.

Step 2: Cut it off till you're satisfied with the length. We first drew a line with a marker to make sure we cut them straight.

Step 3: Use sandpaper to destroy the shorts. We put a piece of cardboard underneath, it makes the sanding easier.

It's also possible to use a small knife to destroy the shorts. Put the knife flat on the surface and scrape the upper layer of the fabric away.

Using a knife to destroy the edges of the shorts gives it a nice effect too.

Step 4: Using the studs.
![]() |
A stud.

We used a pair of small scissors to make 2 small holes for prongs of the studs to go through. Bend the prongs as far in as possible.

Put as many studs on as you like, and destroy the shorts as much as you want.

One with and one without studs.

Done!

My cat loves them just as much as we do :3
